“EAU DE VIE” ZINE

Size: 24 x 36 inches
Adobe Illustrator + Mixed Media

The prompt for this project was to create an event poster that will promote awareness of a water-related issue.

The event I chose was the George Balanchine New York City ballet fundraising performance advocating awareness for the lack of clean water access across the world. I created a ripple effect by cutting out circles in a printed image to represent the idea of water accessibility. I intentionally made the ripples more abundant on one part of the poster compared to the very minimal other half with the fencing texture in order to emphasize this problem.

On the back of the poster, there is a zine with an explanation of all the elements of life that are affected by the lack of water access. Once fully opened up, all the pages are interconnected, creating a second poster with typography as one of the graphic elements.

We also had to create a promotional video for the zine. I made mine by using a combination of Photoshop frame timeline and iMovie.
